Join us May 8th through 11th, 2024 at the Plaza & Tara theatres for four days of vibrant and engaging cinema, showcasing the colorful variety of European on-screen storytelling while exploring the many expressions of European identity. All films will be screened in their native language(s) with English subtitles.

This year fourteen countries are collaborating: Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Romania, Switzerland and Ukraine. These films will showcase the diversity of European on-screen storytelling while exploring the many expressions of European identity. All films will be screened in their native language(s) with English subtitles.

Belgium holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union during the first half of 2024 and the Consulate-General of Belgium is honored to host the opening night reception at the Tara Theater before the first movie screening.

During the festival there will also be a showing of Academy Award Winner Ukrainian documentary film: 20 days in Mariupol. In support of Ukraine, the EFFA will donate part of the proceeds from the Ukrainian screening to Helping Ukraine a non-profit organization that assists Ukrainian’s impacted by the war.

“Films allow us to feel many emotions and to see things outside of our normal day to day lives. We selected a range of European movies, one of them being Oscar-Winner, 20 days in Mariupol, which sadly showcases the realities of war. A way we thought we could give back is by showing the powerful movie with our Atlanta community while giving back to the Ukrainian community.” said Consul General of Belgium in Atlanta, Michel Gerebtzoff.
