Summer Adventures Await: Your Essential Guide to Midtown Atlanta's Kid-Friendly Camps

Starting to make summer camp plans for the kiddos in your life? We’ve got you covered. Explore this list of exciting summer camps taking place in Midtown Atlanta this year.

The High Museum of Art

1st – 8th grade 

Young artists will explore the museum’s galleries, learn about the museum’s collection and special exhibitions, and hone their skills in drawing, painting, and design to create original artworks. 

  

Whole World Improv Theatre

Kids aged 11-17 

Whole World Improv Theatre offers youth, teen, and Neurodivergent community classes that cover improvisation, acting, and becoming show ready. 

  

Center for Puppetry Arts

Kids aged 6-12 

Campers will have a blast learning about puppetry from all over the world, building their very own puppets, and playing and exploring alongside new puppet-curious friends! The Center for Puppetry Arts offers three different summer Puppet Camps, each designed to inspire and delight their specific age group. 

  

Atlanta History Center

History Camps are divided into two age groups: K-2nd graders and 3rd-5th graders. 

Writing Camps are designed for students in 6th-8th grade 

Explore the past through games, historic simulations, and more! 

  

Alliance Theatre

Camp ages range from rising grade K-12 

The Alliance Theatre offers summer camp classes in musical theatre, camera acting, improv and more.

   

Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA)

Kids aged 6-18 

MODA always has an exciting lineup of youth-oriented workshops, classes, and studios being held in person and online. With options for those ranging in age from 6-18, the young designers in your life are sure to have fun learning about what it takes to shape a stronger future through entertaining, hands-on programs and discussions with design professionals in a variety of disciplines 

   

Atlanta Botanical Garden

Kids aged 5-12 

Knowledge and fun bloom year-round with the Garden’s updated schedule of day camps, like Storybook Camp, Junior Garden Chefs, and Adventures in the Garden. 

 

Piedmont Park

Kids aged 5-10 

EnviroVentures Summer Camp includes a variety of programs and activities focusing on experiential learning through active and educational programs. 

 

Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse

Camp options for rising 2nd-5th graders, rising 6th-8th graders, and rising 9th- college freshmen

Synchronicity Theatre

K-5th grade and middle school students
