Five Iron Golf’s indoor golf and entertainment experience officially opens in Midtown Atlanta later this month. The 16,000-square-foot Midtown Atlanta location is the first of its kind in Georgia, featuring 13 custom-built golf simulators, table games, and a full food and beverage menu.

The concept is a great example of what’s coming next in the emerging “experiential entertainment” space, a retail category that has more potential to grow in Midtown, where 115K people spend time each day.

We caught up with Five Iron’s Tim Nagle to find out more about Midtown’s newest tech-focused entertainment space and how it is designed to serve everybody, from avid golfers to friends looking for something fun to do together in the heart of the city.

Practice, Play, Party

Five Iron’s indoor golf experience combines golf, technology and entertainment to create a new social outlet for people. The brand has 20+ locations in cities across the U.S.

Play is centered around the cutting-edge TrackMan golf simulators available for rent in half-hour increments. The technology offers a library of different games, driven by a touchscreen interface. Players can choose simulated course play from 150+ renowned golf courses like Pebble Beach and St. Andrews. There are also target practice games and other competitive twists to add to the fun, like a version of capture the flag and a riff on the popular Candy Crush game played with golf clubs.

And that’s just the beginning. Using multiple high-speed camera angles, the tech setup allows serious golfers to analyze their swing mechanics - an opportunity to brush up on fundamentals before heading out to play an actual course.

“We are focused on enhancing the experience and growing the game,” said Tim Nagle, Regional Manager for Five Iron Golf. “This destination is for everyone from serious golfers to a person who’s never picked up clubs before, and anyone looking for a fun place to go on a date or hang out with friends.”

Unleash Your Competitive Streak

Five Iron hosts the largest indoor league in the country. Local golfers can participate on four-person teams to compete weekly on different courses, accumulating points throughout the season against a local and national leaderboard. Winter season registration opens February 26.

For avid golfers, Five Iron’s membership program offers complimentary daily sessions, plus discounts on lessons, food/beverage, access to training, and more. The amenities - bag storage and locker rooms complete with showers and towel service - create an upscale club facility feel for golfers dedicated to putting in the work to raise their game.

“We're open at 6:00am because we want to be around for the serious golfer,” Nagle said. “Membership is a chance for them to come in and work out for up to 90 minutes a day, Monday through Friday, to improve their game and treat our space like it's a gym.”

Five Iron’s partner, PGA TOUR Superstore, has a presence onsite to offer demos using the latest equipment from major brands. Members and guests can schedule a custom club fitting session with certified fitters for an unbiased recommendation to fit every swing.

How to Book a Simulator + Food and Drink Highlights

Membership options are available but not required to reserve a simulator, play in Five Iron’s golf leagues, host an event, or book a lesson. According to Nagle, most recreational golfers in smaller parties generally book 90-120 minutes of playing time.

The menu includes a selection of pizzas, handhelds, and sliders. Highlights start with the 5i Loaded Pub Chips featuring queso, BBQ pulled pork, pico, and guacamole. There will also be a full bar, with signature cocktails playing off classics and golf culture. Try the John Daly, a blend of vodka, lemonade, iced tea, simple syrup, and lemon.

More in Store with Events and Parties

The Midtown location can also accommodate corporate events, happy hours, birthday parties, and more. Beyond golf, the venue offers multi-sport simulators for soccer, dodgeball, and bowling, along with classic games like shuffleboard, air hockey, and billiards, which adds to the fun. The team is also looking to leverage the simulators for watch parties during major sporting events, like the March Madness NCAA basketball tournament and - of course - The Masters golf tournament in Augusta.

“Midtown is a great place for this concept,” Nagle said. “It's the center of Atlanta, which makes our venue accessible to everyone. We’re thrilled to be here, and we invite the community to come over and play.”

Five Iron Golf is located at 675 W Peachtree St. NW Suite 209, adjacent to the Fox Theatre. From West Peachtree Street on the block between Ponce de Leon Ave and 3rd Street, walk up the stairs between the Tower Square building and the Annex. The entrance is located along the Annex.

Validated onsite parking is also available. Get info on reserving a simulator, hours of operation, leagues, memberships, and more at FiveIronGolf.com/Atlanta-Midtown-fm/.
