“TECHnology Tour” Offers Inside Look at Midtown’s Startup Scene

In the heart of Midtown, Georgia Tech’s Technology Square teems with talent, companies, and big ideas. Why? The neighborhood has a royal flush of startup incubators and accelerators, coworking spaces, corporate innovation centers, research labs, convenient access to top research university Georgia Tech (and the list goes on)—all within eight square blocks.

In an effort to bring Midtown Alliance members inside the world of Tech Square startups, Midtown Alliance organized “The Startup Story” as the first tour in its Midtown TECHnology Tour event series. Held on May 17, the event offered more than 70 attendees a behind-the-scenes look at some of the personalities, projects, spaces and companies involved in Midtown’s bustling startup scene. Read More »

Georgia Tech Students Envision “Eco Living Room” Model for Midtown’s Open Spaces

Midtown Alliance and Georgia Tech charged a team of architecture students to explore the possibilities of sustainable design for a publicly accessible gathering space in Midtown. The outcome? A unique prototype for an “eco living room” at the Midtown MARTA station. Guided by the principles of Midtown Alliance’s community-driven Greenprint plan, their concept serves as a model for sustainable public spaces that contribute to advancing Midtown as an urban, innovative, and resource-efficient EcoDistrict. Read More »
