Midtown ATL

(Ad)venture Capital Fund

Hey, Community Activation Partners ... Send us a pitch!

Consider applying if you're: an individual, arts and culture non-profit, local business, corporation, or professional event organizer.

Midtown has a variety of existing public spaces – including public right-of-way like streets and sidewalks, and dedicated spaces like small parks and plazas. Some are managed and maintained by Midtown Alliance (Arts District Plaza, Commercial Row Commons, Spring Street Parklets, and 10th Street Park). Others are part of private developments managed by individual property owners. Some of these spaces are being programmed to attract people and create a positive environment for public life, while others are not.

Community activation partners are invited to submit proposals for events and programming that bring public spaces to life. Examples include, but are not limited to: temporary public markets (artisan, farmers, holiday, etc.), outdoor fitness/art class, interactive art installation, social events, lawn games, block party/closed street festival (art, food, music, etc.), live music/concert series, outdoor movies.

Specifics You'll Need to Make Your Event/Activation Pitch:

1. Description of your proposed project

Note the intended date(s) and time(s) including frequency (one-time event, series, seasonal). Indicate the person(s) to manage the activation or event including relevant experience. Indicate expected attendance and if entertainment will be provided. Explain how you plan to get the word out and how this activation or event will bring people together to create community. Note: activations should be open to the public, but may include select activities that are ticketed or approved merchandise for sale.

2. Proposed location

Identify the location(s) within the boundaries of the Midtown Improvement District (MID) where the project will be implemented (sidewalk, street, park, or plaza) or a privately owned public space. All necessary elements should be identified such as electricity, accessible parking, restrooms, trash service, etc.

3. Preliminary budget and proposed timeline

Indicate the total project budget needed to implement your proposal. Activations and events must be achievable within 12 calendar months.

4. Assistance your project will need

Indicate the type of assistance you're seeking from Midtown Alliance, such as inspiration, contracted design expertise, permitting and regulatory guidance, promotional support, introductions to other partners with synergistic interests, and seed funds.
