About the Artist Residency Program
Temporary installations are the springboard for future residencies intended to give artists a physical workspace and a firm foundation to build a creative practice in Midtown. Residencies arranged through partnerships with property owners in Midtown will range from 12 months or more, and will include a give-back to the community in the form of special programming and events featuring the artists and their work. A number of property owners have signed on for 2021.
Additionally, the program provides opportunities to connect with Midtown-based arts institutions, curators, arts professionals, potential clients and collectors. This program is an extension of Midtown Alliance’s commitment to support the local arts economy and to provide opportunities to share new talent with the Midtown audience. Through their participation in the program, selected artists will help energize and enrich public spaces in Midtown, reinforcing the district’s identity as the Heart of the Arts.
Midtown Alliance invites property owners seeking opportunities for their available spaces in 2022 to reach out regarding potential partnerships.
This effort is guided by Midtown Alliance and relies on strategic partnerships with commercial property owners. Host sites enjoy the presence of art on their property and the added visibility that it brings.
