The Atlanta Jazz Festival, one of the largest free jazz festivals in the country, will be held in Piedmont Park Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 25 - Sunday, May 26. The 42nd annual Atlanta Jazz Festival will showcase a variety of jazz acts from some of the best performers in the country, including Lizz Wright, Richard Bona and more.
In anticipation of the Festival on Memorial Day Weekend, the City of Atlanta’s Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs will host 31 Days of Jazz with jazz-related events throughout Metro Atlanta beginning on May 1. Most of the events are free and will occur at a number of public metro Atlanta locations, including various MARTA stations, museums and neighborhood parks. More information can be found on, or visit the festival’s mobile channel at

The Festival lineup includes an assortment of jazz sounds and stylings presented on three stages: The Oak Hill Stage, The Meadow Stage and The Park Drive Stage.

Avery Young kicks off the festival on Saturday followed by amazing acts from Rhonda Ross and Rodney Strickland, Ofer Assaf Quartet, Joel Ross ‘Good Vibes’ and more. On Sunday, a preview of the impressive lineup includes Kandace Springs, The Milkshake Quintet, Slim Gambill and OKCello. Two-time Grammy-nominated trumpeter and composer Russell Gunn and his band The Royal Krunk Jazz Orkestra will close the Festival on Sunday at 9 p.m.
