We match private sector development ideas with public sector and community goals to create shared wins.

The planning and urban design team at Midtown Alliance advocates for high-quality development projects that are consistent with local zoning codes and Blueprint Midtown, our community-designed master plan. We work as partners, implementers and facilitators to provide the critical link between the private development community and the public sector and to create shared wins that add value to the district. We offer insight and resources based on years of experience working hand-in-hand with property owners, developers and our colleagues at the City of Atlanta and other local, state and federal agencies. We are available to provide technical assistance on the front end for preliminary project review and guidance throughout the design process. We offer a wide array of development resources including economic data, maps, demographics, development trends, zoning consultation, design guidelines and other information to aid the private sector in the build-out of a livable, sustainable Midtown Atlanta.

Midtown SPI-16 & SPI 17: Development Review Committee

Each month we staff a public meeting of the Midtown Development Review Committee– comprised of 10 individuals representing residents, property and business owners, institutions, neighborhood associations, and MARTA. The committee, appointed jointly by the City of Atlanta and Midtown Alliance, provides formal recommendations to the Office of Planning on all Special Administrative Permit (SAP) applications within the Midtown SPI-16 and SPI-17 zoning districts.

Midtown DRC meetings are scheduled on the second Tuesday of each month and applicants must submit project information (project narrative, site plan, elevations, renderings) one week in advance in order to be placed on the agenda. Questions and submittal materials should be sent to the attention of Karl Smith-Davids, Senior Project Manager, Karl@MidtownATL.com.

To comment directly to the City about projects that come before the Midtown Development Review Committee, please email SAPComments@AtlantaGA.gov.

The DRC typically meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30pm on the 2nd Floor Conference Room at 999 Peachtree Street NE.
