98 14th Street: From Empty Space to Essential Place

The Midtown Improvement District (MID) announces a major land acquisition with plans to create a permanent signature public space in the heart of Atlanta, for everyone.

Midtown Alliance is currently working with a multi-disciplinary design team to shape a bold vision for this transformative project. We expect to have concept renderings and cost estimates by Spring 2026, which will then initiate a multi-year fundraising campaign.

Atlantans can also look forward to some temporary improvements that will make the site usable in the summer of 2026 for public events.

Creating a premier attraction on this land will take all of us. Learn more about the project and how you can get involved.

Midtown Needs More Places for People to Gather

Since 2000, one square-mile of Midtown has seen 140 major development projects delivered and valued at more than $21B, including office towers, condos, apartments, hotels, and institutional spaces. Yet the 770-acre district currently has only 1.4 acres of permanently protected public open space.

Located between Peachtree and West Peachtree Streets on 14th Street, the site is one of the last undeveloped parcels of its size in Midtown and is strategically located in the largest concentration of arts and cultural attractions in the Southeast, and more than 44,500 workers, residents, students and visitors within a seven-minute walk.
