Creating Atlanta's premier attraction takes all of us.

Midtown Alliance staff have led several projects in 2025 and 2026 to harness the community's enthusiasm about the 98 14th Street land acquisition and capture feedback to inform our design strategy:

Facilitated Working Groups

Our staff convened subject matter experts from the retail, property development, arts and design arenas to discuss the design objectives for the site.

Design Lab Open House Event at MODA

Midtown Alliance hosted a drop-in event at the Museum of Design Atlanta for people to share their thoughts and help refine our design team's work as we develop a killer concept for a premier public space at 98 14th Street that our entire city can get behind.

Interactive Community Pop-Ups

We struck up conversations with attendees at public events to ask what types of features they would like to see included in the space. The conversations around possible things to do and experiences to enjoy helped shape the design and functional uses for the space.

2026 Interactive Digital Survey

We also created a short digital survey to explore design and programming ideas for the 98 14th Street site. The survey asked respondents to weigh in on the types of activities that would draw them to this space and what times of day they would visit. Nearly 600 people took the survey in Q1 2026.

2025 Midtown Community Survey

More than 4,800 Midtown residents, workers and visitors participated in our latest community survey, which included questions about what they'd like to do and experience at the 98 14th Street site and where we should look globally for inspiration.

Overall, the feedback points to a strong desire for an active-use space, one that allows for a lot of flexibility in how it's designed and programmed, with a compelling blend of art, technology, nature, and public life.

Survey respondents prioritized having a focal point (like a landmark art installation or a water feature) and to bring together elements of nature and art with programming and possibly a food and beverage component onsite.

The survey also asked respondents to share the names of places they have visited that we should look at for inspiration. We received hundreds of suggestions from across the globe, from Singapore to Tulsa. This really underscores that people who spend time in Midtown are well-traveled and have experienced the best of world-class cities.

Our staff are working with all this excellent feedback to create a compelling design for this space that will make it a landmark destination in Atlanta for everyone to visit and enjoy.
