complex challenges, and shapes the world we live in. We invite boundary-pushing creatives to share the bold ideas and design thinking behind their work.
About the Event:
Join MODA for an evening with Chris Peeples, founder of the Atlanta Streetwear Market (ASWM) — one of the most dynamic and influential platforms for emerging fashion talent in the Southeast.
Founded in 2016, ASWM has grown into a powerful cultural force, amplifying the voices of independent designers, especially young Black creatives, and redefining what fashion entrepreneurship looks like in Atlanta and beyond.
This edition of Business X Design will explore the design-driven origins of the Atlanta Streetwear Market, tracing Chris’s journey from concept to movement. We’ll examine how he and his team built a creative ecosystem that merges fashion, community, and business, while maintaining streetwear’s core values: authenticity, storytelling, and radical self-expression.
Together We’ll Discuss:
The rise of Atlanta as a streetwear capital
How ASWM supports independent designers and builds community
The role of streetwear in shaping cultural identity and social change
What it takes to launch and grow a design-forward business in today’s creative economy
Whether you're passionate about fashion or innovative entrepreneurship, this conversation promises to inspire your imagination!
