Pour a glass of wine and you're tasting more than grapes. You're tasting geography. Ocean air, mineral-rich soil, and the hand of the winemaker all leave their mark on what lands on your tongue, sometimes as a distinct salinity that wine lovers seek out and savor.
So when a wine tastes salty, what are we actually noticing?
Join Certified Sommelier Janeen Jason of VinoTeca for a guided tasting through four wines that put this question to the test. She'll walk us through how the palate detects salinity and how wine can evoke soil, sea, and salt.
This special tasting is a fundraiser associated with MODA’s current exhibition, SALT: A Design Story, and presented by VinoTeca in support of MODA's future exhibitions, programming, and operations.
