Join MODA for a virtual studio and create a game where players discover mysterious alien creatures on a distant planet.

In this virtual studio, young designers will learn how to build an interactive experience using Scratch. Students will create an alien world filled with space creatures that players must meet, avoid, rescue, or collect. They will use block based coding to add movement, interactions, scoring, and simple game mechanics while designing colorful environments that encourage exploration. At the end of the studio, students can share their work and receive feedback in a supportive environment.

In this Afterschool Studio, we’ll:
Use Scratch to build a short interactive exploration game
- Introduce foundational coding concepts using Scratch
- Strengthen logical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Encourage creativity through visual design and storytelling in gameplay
- Provide a space to share and provide constructive feedback
- Practice collaboration, inclusivity, creative courage, imaginative problem-solving, storytelling, and critical thinking
