"Michelle Cann...was a compelling, sparkling virtuoso, bringing [Price's] riveting work to life in its first New York performance" (Boston Musical Intelligencer).

The Orchestra's 2021/22 season features a number of rising star artists, and pianist Michelle Cann has certainly earned her place among them. Performing since age seven, she makes her Atlanta Symphony Orchestra debut with Florence Price's Piano Concerto in One Movement, a piece she's playing to great acclaim.

Also, Principal Guest Conductor Donald Runnicles leads the orchestra in Mahler's First Symphony — a piece that initially confounded audiences with its daring and innovation. "Sometimes it sent shivers down my spine," lamented Mahler. "Damn it all, where do people keep their ears and their hearts if they can't hear that!"

Open your ears and hearts this weekend and enjoy this sunny, spring-inspired symphony alongside the gifted Michelle Cann.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will be implementing a mandatory vaccine policy for audiences. Beginning September 1, 2021, proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to performance, as well as matching photo ID, will be required upon arrival at Atlanta Symphony Hall.
