Details

'The Atlanta Odyssey' is Robert Barsky's new illustrated epic poem. Inspired Homer's Odyssey, this work is being created to reflect great epic quests from the past, and inspire future journeys through Atlanta and Fulton County.

The work highlights the many layers of Atlanta’s history, and brings the reader along for the ride by adding photos and soundscapes of graffiti, artworks and landmarks recorded en route. This project features the poet "George", of 'Beltline Chronicles fame', who wanders around Atlanta and creates an epic story of his adventures along the way. A Preview of the work-in-progress can be found at https://contours.pubpub.org/the-atlanta-odyssey.

Robert Barsky will join Susan Ker-Seymer at the Book//Zine, Burnaway's annual art book and zine fair at the Goat Farm. This event brings together independent publishers, small presses, makers, writers, artists, and the public for a day of books, zines, prints, and other artist-made wares. Join us for readings and the creation of Odyssey-themed zines!

This project is sponsored by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, Arts & Culture Program Area. Any revenues from this project are directed to assist homeless people in Fulton County.
