Midtown Assistance Center (MAC) is a non-profit whose mission is to prevent homelessness and hunger by providing emergency assistance to low-income working Atlantans during periods of crisis. Located in the basement of Atlanta First United Methodist Church, MAC provides food, clothing, transportation, rent and utility assistance to neighbors in seven zip codes. In 1986, MAC was formed by an interfaith coalition of congregations, and the Midtown Alliance, and has provided over $9 million in assistance.
