Love Local: Tutti Gelati Offers a Taste of Italy with a Midtown Twist

09/04/2025

BY BRIAN CARR

In Midtown Atlanta, gelato is always a good idea.

And Haydé López, together with her daughters Cybelle and Tania, has created a fun business concept that serves up cool treats for everyone in the neighborhood. We spoke with the team recently to get the inside scoop on their new partnership with Midtown Alliance that will bring a pop-up gelato cart to the 10th Street Park on select days this fall. Read more.

Tutti Gelati Adds a Pop-Up Outpost at Peachtree and 10th Streets

The López family has operated Tutti Gelati in Midtown since 2023. Their brick-and-mortar location next to the landmark Rainbow Crosswalk at Piedmont and 10th Streets even features a walk-up window, which is a rare find and an awesome convenience that Midtown could use more of.

And now Tutti Gelati is expanding with a decked-out gelato cart that will be stationed in the 10th Street Park at the corner of Peachtree and 10th Streets on select days in September and October. The cart will serve passersby and event attendees at Midtown Alliance community events happening this fall, adding sweetness to the lineup of free outdoor concerts, yoga sessions, and movie nights.

Italian Influences, Sweet Inspiration

Haydé López

Originally from a small city in Mexico, Haydé grew up surrounded by Italian food thanks to her parents’ time abroad. In fact, exposure to Italian cuisine was a big part of her upbringing and Haydé even ran her own Italian restaurant for many years. She has always loved gelato and dove deep into gelato-making classes, mastering the art of the smooth, slow-churned dessert. Today, Haydé and her daughters find connection and meaning through their work to make excellent gelato and coffee.

“Gelato always brought joy to our family,” she said. “Now we get to share that joy with our neighbors in Midtown.”

Tutti Gelati: Your New Excuse to Pause, Savor, and Connect

The Tutti Gelati menu features many unique offerings that bring a taste of Italy’s dolce vita to Midtown Atlanta. In addition to the many flavors of gelato they serve, you’ll also find premium roasted coffee, milkshakes, and even a shaken affogato beverage, which combines a scoop of gelato with espresso. Tutti Gelati also sells sorbet, cookies, cakes and their very own take on a new trend: Dubai Chocolate. But if you want to indulge in a truly authentic creation with local flavor, Haydé recommends the "Peachstreet," a decadent version of gelato featuring peaches, roasted almonds and dulce de leche.

At Home Serving Midtown Friends and Neighbors

Haydé López with her daughters Tania and Cybelle

The López family loves Midtown Atlanta. They live in the area and feel it is the ideal location to run their gelato business. Cybelle said the neighborhood feels like an extension of their family table.

According to Haydé, gelato carts are very common in piazzas and other public spaces around Italian cities. And theirs is uniquely designed to attract interest from passersby looking for a sweet distraction. They hope the cart becomes a useful way to connect with their Midtown neighbors.

“Gelato is a scoop of happiness,” Haydé said. “Come share it with us.”

Find Tutti Gelati’s store at 1001 Piedmont Avenue, Unit #101 in Midtown Atlanta near the Rainbow Crosswalks. Look for their pop-up cart in the 10th Street Park on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during September and October from 2-8pm.
