Midtown Alliance Names New Chief Financial Officer

Published: 06/04/19

Midtown Alliance, the driving force behind the revitalization of Midtown, has rehired Atlanta nonprofit sector veteran Norman McKay as its CFO.

McKay is rejoining the Midtown Alliance leadership team after previously working for the organization as its CFO from 2011 to 2014. Midtown continues to experience unprecedented growth, with 100 new residents moving to the 1.2 square mile district every week, more than 20,000 new jobs announced since 2015 and nearly 50 large-scale development projects newly delivered or underway.

“Norman is the perfect person to guide financial strategy of the Midtown Alliance and the Midtown Improvement District at a time when growth and investment in Midtown are at an all-time high,” said Midtown Alliance President and CEO Kevin Green. “Norman is a proven leader, and we are very pleased to welcome him back as we continue to work toward making Midtown an exceptional place in our city.”

Most recently, McKay served as the CFO and Vice President for Business and Finance of Oglethorpe University, where he oversaw a steady strengthening of the University’s financial condition, along with the completion of a variety of campus operational and capital improvements.

McKay’s role in helping local mission-driven organizations goes beyond his history with Midtown Alliance and Oglethorpe University. He also served as the Piedmont Park Conservancy’s first full-time CFO from 2003 to 2008, a time when the Conservancy organized extensive renovations and a 40% expansion of the park. McKay also served as CFO for Atlanta Habitat for Humanity from 2009 to 2011.

“I’m looking forward to helping to facilitate the great work of the Midtown Alliance, Midtown Improvement District and its stakeholders as Midtown continues to evolve,” said McKay. “I’m passionate about Midtown Alliance’s vision and ability to execute, and I am delighted to be rejoining the team.”
