Midtown Commuter Bus Service Changes Go Into Effect June 16
06/04/2025

Heads up, Midtown. Beginning June 16, commuter bus riders traveling to Midtown will see major changes to the routes, park and ride facilities and operators that serve Midtown. Here's what you need to know:
First: Consolidation Means Xpress is Now the Only Operator
As a result of a recent reduction in state funding, the ATL’s Xpress Redefining the Ride planning effort has consolidated the number of daily routes serving downtown and Midtown. Additionally, Xpress will be the only provider of commuter bus service into the district after consolidating several routes previously operated by CobbLinc and Ride Gwinnett.
Second: On Some Routes, How You Arrive Into Midtown Will Be Different
Xpress’s modified service maintains direct service to Midtown on most corridors and Midtown’s local commuter bus stops on West Peachtree Street and Spring Street will remain.
Travelers using Xpress route 401 along the Georgia 400 corridor and Xpress route 453 along the I-85 South corridor will have their bus trips end at MARTA rail stations, where a transfer to the train will be required to arrive in Midtown. Riders can make the transfer between Xpress and MARTA for free by using their Breeze cards or the Breeze mobile 2.0 app.
All other routes will directly serve Midtown stops, though they may be combined with downtown Atlanta service on certain routes.
What's Not Changing? The Fare.
There is no change to the cost of Xpress fare and the blue and green zone designations for each existing park and ride will remain unchanged.
Get More Info
Commuters should check the Xpress Redefining the Ride 2.0 website to view updated route information, daily trip times, and park and ride locations. Xpress maintains at least two daily trips on all corridors, with certain routes adding extra trips on Tuesdays-Thursdays when data shows that the number of workers present in the office is at its highest.
Resources Available to Help You Adapt Your Commute
Xpress and Georgia Commute Options have teamed up to offer current Xpress riders a $50 incentive for sticking with their Xpress commute or by switching to carpooling or vanpooling to the office. Midtown Alliance’s Transportation team can also provide guidance to employees on their monthly fare needs or their updated schedules through their personalized commute planning program.
