New Cirque du Soleil Show LUZIA Lands in Midtown for the Holidays

10/30/25

The imaginative and dynamic talents from Cirque du Soleil return to Midtown Atlanta this season with a compelling new production that will take your breath away.

In a series of visual surprises and stunning acrobatic performances, LUZIA takes audiences on a surreal escape to an imaginary Mexico – a vibrant world suspended between dreams and reality. Passing seamlessly from an old movie set, to the ocean, to a smoky dance hall or an arid desert, LUZIA journeys through a colorful tapestry of places, faces and sounds of Mexico.

The show runs from November 6 through January 25 at Atlantic Station, offering a new experience to enjoy with your friends, family and children this holiday season. And Midtown Alliance members can score discounted tickets here:

A First for a Cirque du Soleil Touring Production: Water as a Stage Element

Through its dreamlike set design, costumes, acrobatic performances and music, LUZIA explores various themes linked to the culture, history and mythology of Mexico. And in a feat of innovation that Midtown engineers and artists alike can appreciate, LUZIA enchants the audience by artistically incorporating water into the presentation – a first for a Cirque du Soleil touring production.

According to the event organizers, integrating the element of water inside the Big Top represented a formidable technical challenge on many fronts. The water must be filtered, disinfected and maintained at a constant 102° F for the well-being of the artists. And all 2,600 gallons of water used during the performance are recycled for the entire duration of a stay in a given city. And because some artists perform in the water, the costume team had to develop new types of soles for their shoes, along with a sophisticated system to dry their costumes between shows.
