On January 27, Midtown Alliance hosted a drop-in event at the Museum of Design Atlanta for people to share their thoughts and help refine our design team's work as we develop a killer concept for a premier public space at 98 14th Street that our entire city can get behind.

Here are some photos from the event and a brief rundown of the feedback we gathered.

We're still sifting through all the feedback, and there is a lot.

But among the themes that are taking shape, people want a balance of active use experiences and peaceful experiences.

Live music and performances were among the most-requested things to see and do. There is also strong interest in having spaces to appreciate nature and tranquility. The themes for activities hit on many of the things people want to do in public spaces, with a nod to everyday eating, places to sit, access to space for sports and recreation, programming such as fitness classes and more.

What else did meeting participants feel is important at 98 14th Street?

A blend of greenery, with native plants and tree canopy, and lots of public art. Invitations for a diverse mix of people to gather and connect.

Have you jumped into our digital survey to give feedback?

Midtown Alliance staff will continue to organize feedback and analysis for what we learned. Meanwhile, if you were unable to make it to the Design Lab event and want to get involved, take our new mini-survey with questions on possible features and activities for the space.
