15th Street Area Light Individual Transportation (LIT) Lane Connection Project

Project Overview

Demand continues to increase and grow for personal mobility options (bikes, e-scooters and other modes) and safer corridors to use them. Stemming from the adopted City of Atlanta Transportation Plan and the Midtown Transportation Plan, this project will assess a bicycle, pedestrian, and shareable mobility device connection between West Peachtree Street at 15th Street and Piedmont Avenue at 15th Street intersection.

A safe and convenient connection will provide much needed access to Piedmont Park, Ansley Park, major employment centers, cultural and institutional centers and the Arts Center MARTA Station. The project could comprise a network of streets and facilities in addition to 15th Street, such as Arts Center Way, 16th Street, Peachtree Circle. By providing a connection from the future multi-use trail at Piedmont Ave and 15th Street to the protected bicycle facilities on the 15th Street extension, commuters, residents, and visitors will be able to bypass the 14th Street corridor.
